Intertwined - Grief and Hope

2D Project - create an image using 2 objects in various sizes to simulate foreground and background fading out of view.  For this project I used two Willow Tree sculptures created by artist Susan Lordi to compose my project. As a military widow these two sculptures hold significant meaning. The foreground is composed of more Hero statues as it signifies more of the immediate grief after suffering loss. As you move toward the middle there is hope and grief mixed together. The background contains more hope then grief as you begin to find yourself again and move forward in your journey. Grief Cycles

Photography 1 Project: Grief Living inside a world of grief. Loss leaves you stunned, having your whole world ripped out from under you. Everything you knew and believed in is gone forever. It sets you on a path, denial, anger, emptiness. Then you come to a time that you live cautiously and ultimately detour off the path. It is a perpetual cycle, it never leaves you, even if you bury it deep within. Grief Denial Anger Weighted Emptiness           Caution Detour

Mental Health Introspect

Photography 1 class project: Capture 5 images on a topic that concerns you.  The challenge of this project was to capture images in a none traditional introspective way. Mental health issues are the bumps in the road, the feeling drained and deflated. It means reaching out to a friend, a therapist, doctors, anyone that will listen and help. It takes being resilient in wanting to persist through the darkest of dark, to fight until you see the light, and come out on the other side of it. It can be a battle that is fought over and over. Just keep reaching out till you find the right person that can help. Sinkhole Drained Call for Help Deflated Resilient
